Oxy-fuel combustion for low-energy CCUS in cement plants

As carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) becomes a key technology to reduce carbon emissions in the cement industry, research into the best technology for the sector shows the benefits and challenges of oxy-fuel combustion. To that end, China’s largest domestic demonstration plant has been establised in Weifang, Shandong. By Xueping Peng, Changhua Chen, Zhongyuan Dai, Fuwei Wan, Xiaoping Wu, Yanmin Lin and Zhouzheng Jin, China National Building Material Equipment Group Co Ltd (CNBM) and Tianjin Cement Industry Design and Research Institute (TCIDRI), China.
